AR Mobile Apps

Over my time with the company we created some incredible augmented reality mobile apps that were designed as
marketing tools for our clients and collaborators. These apps allow the users to have a ‘real life’ and immersive experience
from anywhere and everywhere. Using 8th wall we were able to seamlessly incorporate my UI designs into a flawlessly
functioning app.

I worked primarily as lead designer on these projects, insuring efficiency through all of the process.

Rhode Island Tourism
A QR code campaign let airport-goers snap selfies with
Rhode Island landmarks and receive their very own AR postcard.

Rhode Island Tourism requested a mobile photo experience that launches from a physical booth with QR code in select airports. The user is prompted to take a selfie and the user’s background is removed. Their selfie is then placed over a digital postcard to send to friends and family.

The user base for this project consists of a range of travelers between 18-60 years old. Develop a simple and intuitive mobile experience with technology capable of removing a background in a photo in a matter of seconds. The selfie then automatically gets placed over a selection of digital postcards.

Since this app is geo-located at select airports, users needed to grant permission for location and camera. Once the user opts in, they are able to take a selfie, enter their information and see the generated postcards.

AT&T Loteria AR Mobile App Game
Bringing a Mexican tradition to your own home
through augmented reality.

AT&T partnered with us again to bring to life a beloved Mexican card game for the Mother’s Day holiday. Using our expertise with augmented reality, in partnership with 8th wall, we were able to bring users an unforgettable experience.

This multiplayer mobile app game allowed users to connect with family and friends in a fun competition like never before while allowing us at Brightline to showcase what our capabilities can do.

AT&T 3D Selfie Holiday Experience
Attendees of Immerse Global Summit captured
and viewed themselves in a shareable 3D AR holiday card.

At the Immerse Global Summit, S5D partnered with AT&T to give attendees a never-before-seen chance to view themselves in AR through a 3D capture.

With an average of 2 shares per user, 698 photos and videos captured within the shareable once shared. This highlighted AT&T's commitment to innovation and highlighted the value of high speed connection.

Once the capture was complete, participants received two 3D versions of themselves – one for personal project use and a 5-7 second moving capture inside an AT&T snowglobe. This AR holiday card was shared multiple times by participants over social media or to friends and family. The experience was viewable on any personal device, including the new mobile Hero devices that AT&T showcased at the event.

AT&T 3D Selfie Loot Drop
At PAX West, fans showcased their outfits and captured
their movements to share their AR version of themselves within minutes.

In a successful effort to break into the gaming market, AT&T partnered with us to show the value of 5G technology to the attendees of PAX West.

Throughout the 3 day event, over 1600 captures were taken. Each user shared the experience 3 times on average, and the experience was shared a total of 4k times across all users.

Participants were given the unique chance to capture themselves in 3D inside the AT&T-branded volumetric capture booth, equipped with 22 cameras to capture every angle. Fans lined up to view a 3D screen showcasing an example output, and were prompted to complete a mobile registration. While inside the booth, users performed a dance or showed off their costumes in a 6-second capture. Within minutes, users received a link where they could access and share their AR experience. When opened, a branded barrel and parachute fell from the sky, revealing the user moving in 3D on a pedestal. From this experience, AT&T generated over 250 active leads within 3 days.
